SHANGHAI, NOVEMBER 28, 2011— Yang Yeo, JWT Shanghai’s Chief Creative Officer, was named Creative of the Year for Greater China by Campaign Asia Pacific.
“I’ve been extremely fortunate to be running a talented and dedicated creative team in JWT Shanghai. I’m also very lucky to have Mayan as my mentor, and Elvis as my creative partner. They are the real stars and I’ll like to share this title with them.”
This prestigious award was announced ahead of Campaign’s Agency of the Year ceremony. JWT Shanghai was also shortlisted for Agency of the Year for the Greater China region by Campaign. The winner of that category will be announced on December 13.
Yang has led the Shanghai creative team to several landmark firsts. JWT Shanghai won seven Lions at Cannes including the prestigious Grand Prix Lion for the “Heaven and Hell” ad campaign for Samsonite – the first-ever Grand Prix award for mainland China. The team also won mainland China’s first-ever Grand LIA, for the same campaign, at the London International Awards. JWT Shanghai continued their success taking home the Grand Prix at the LongXi Award, China 4As Award, and the triple Grand Prix at the Spikes Asia awards recently.
“My heartiest congratulations to Yang on this exciting award,” said Michael Maedel, President, JWT Asia Pacific. “It’s been just an incredible year for JWT Shanghai, and he’s really shone as a creative talent and a leader. Well done — and encore.”
